Released by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office …
On Thursday May 30, 2019, at approximately 6:46 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a dog bite at 5031 Damascus Church Rd, residence of Barry Harris.
Sheriff’s Deputies, Graceville Police Department and Jackson County Animal Control responded. Upon arrival it was discovered that Harris’ mother, Caron Harris, age 65, had been bitten causing extensive damage.
EMS arrived to assist. Several dogs attacked the owner’s uncle, 63 year old William Harris, causing extensive damage, and a subject riding by on a ATV was also bitten causing minor damage. Animal Control was able to get the dogs contained.
Caron and William were Life Flighted due to the extensive injuries while the subject on the ATV was transported via private vehicle.
This incident is still under investigation.
