FHP reports no injuries in Jackson County accident ……………..

Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report there were no injuries in a Monday evening crash in Jackson County  that resulted in an 18-wheeler dumping a load of dirt on U.S. 231.

According to the FHP, the Peterbuilt semi was westbound on C.R. 162  when the driver, Alex Steven Anderson, 54 of Alford, Florida, was approaching the stop sign at the intersection of U.S. 231 towing a trailer.  As the driver  proceeded across the northbound lanes of U.S. 231 and into the paved median portion of the highway, the trailer began to make a left turn to enter the southbound inside travel lane of U.S. 231.  The truck and trailer overturned onto the right side, causing the load of dirt being acrried in the trailer to be dumped onto the roadway.

 

The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Jackson County Fire Rescue.
