Hurricane debris cleanup was again a topic of discussion when the Chipley City Council met Thursday night in a Workshop Session.

Councilmembers were told an estimated 1.4 million cubic yards of debris have been picked up, with about that much more still to come.

City Administrator Dan Miner told councilmembers that total clean up is going to be a “long process”, but that the city wants to reduce any wildfire problems.  The process was  described as “labor intensive” and “expensive”.

Councilmembers also talked with Jennifer Losee about the ‘Walk of Hope’ she has planned for Sept. 14, 2019 in downtown Chipley.

The ‘Walk of Hope’ is a community event for suicide awareness and prevention, a cause close to Losee’s heart as she lost her daughter to suicide.
