WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Neal Dunn (FL-02) issued the following statement after the House voted on H.Res. 430, legislation expanding the powers of the House Judiciary Committee to prosecute Attorney General William Barr and former White House Counsel Donald McGahn:

“Today’s vote is yet another political stunt by House Democrats to distract Americans from the pressing issues that are facing our nation. Instead of passing legislation and doing what they were elected to do, Democrats are wasting time and money on a never-ending witch-hunt. They are quite literally trying to prosecute Attorney General Barr for upholding the letter of the law.

“It’s no wonder that many people across this country have lost faith in Congress – with communities recovering from natural disasters and a humanitarian crisis at our border, we are wasting time voting on expanding the prosecutorial power of leaders who only want to impeach our president. It’s time for the House to get back to work and stop with these meaningless votes.”
