On June 19, 2019, Jamie Ty Hamrick was found guilty on 2 Felony counts of DUI Manslaughter.
The verdict stems from an investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol, from an incident that occurred on
September 27, 2018.
The vehicle, driven by Mr. Hamrick, left the roadway while traveling at a high rate of speed, subsequently lost control, overturned, and colliding with a tree near County Road 95 (North Palafox Street).
The vehicle’s occupants, La’Phontae Lewis and Antion Lindsay, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr. Hamrick is tentatively scheduled for sentencing on August 12, 2019 in Escambia County.
