1 dead, 2 injured in Jackson County crash ……………………

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports that a Brandenton, Florida man died in a early morning crash on CR 162 in Jackson County today.

According to the FHP, Harry Henry Godwin, 61, of Bradenton, was driving a 2002 Ford Taurus westbound on CR 162 when the vehicle traveled onto the south shoulder of the roadway and continued traveling westbound.  The front of the vehicle collided with a tree and then continued traveling westbound, before colliding with another tree.  The Ford came to final rest on the south south shoulder.

A passenger in that vehicle, James Anthony McDoanld, 44, of Dothan, Alabama, received critical injuries and was taken to a Dothan hosital.

A second passenger, Trvoris D. Long, 31, of Bessember, Alabama, was listed as having received serious injuries and was also taken to a Dothan hospital.

The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Fire Resue, and the Air Heart Helicopter.
