COA hosts Ice Cream Social in Wausau …………

Kim Drummon, Washington County Council on Aging, and Larry Cobb, Emerald Coast Hospice were at the Wausau Town Hall to talk with area residents stopping by.

The Washington County Council on Aging has a lot to offer the county’s senior citizens and last Friday COA head Kim Drummond and friends were in Wausau hosting an Ice Cream Social to introduce community senior citizens to what is available through the agency.

Services offered through the Council on Aging include the following:

  •  Home Delivered Meals
  •  Respite
  • Homemaker
  •  Personal Care
  •  Personal Supplies
  •  Emergency Alert Telephone
  •  Senior Center Activities
  •  Information about Resources
  •  Congregate Dining
  •  Health Support Programs
  •  Educationa Programs
  •  Line Dancing
  •  Facility Based Respite
  •  AARP Tax Assistance

The COA motto is – Our elders were there for us so, plese help us, be there for them!

Their Volunteer Opportunities include the following:

  •  Deliver Meals
  •  Run Errants for seniors
  •  Serve as a receptionist
  •  Help  plan activities for the Senior Center
  •  Help with Special Programs / Dinners
