On Friday, July 26th, the Cosmetology Program from Florida Panhandle Technical College will provide free haircuts from 10AM until Noon, at the ‘Back to School Fair’ at Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Downtown Chipley, Florida, as seen in these photos from last year’s event by Real Florida Media, a subsidiary of The Goulding Agency in Chipley, Florida.
One of the least-touted programs of the over 35 degree and certification courses offered at Florida Panhandle Technical College in Chipley, Florida is the Cosmetology Program.
‘Many, if not most of the cosmetologists working in regional salons are graduates of Florida Panhandle Technical College’, says Martha Compton, Director of FPTC.
You don’t have to look far to see the impact of the Cosmetology Program on the region, as hundreds of self-employed business owners provide services to the community.
Job descriptions may vary, but the industry titles of Hairdresser, Hairstylist and Cosmetologist are all applicable, providing beauty services including shampooing, cutting, coloring, and styling hair, and massaging and treating the scalp.
These qualifications also allow the application of makeup, dress wigs, hair removal, and nail and skin care services.
The Florida Panhandle Technical College Cosmetology program is now enrolling students for classes, and details are available at www.fptc.edu or by contacting FPTC Student Services at 1-850-638-1180, Ext. 317 or by dropping in at the college at 757 Hoyt Street in downtown Chipley.
