Released by the Florida Highway Patrol …
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports that 40-year-old Rontavious K. Hughes of Marianna, Florida, died as a result of injuries received in an 11:30 p.m. accident in Marianna on July 27th.
The FHP reports two others received minor injuries in the accident.
Injured were 17-year-old Shatashia Monique Deveaux (driver) of Blountstown, Florida, and 16-year-old Rontavious M. Hughes (passenger) of Marianna. Both were transported to a local medical faciltiy.
According to the FHP, Deveaux was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Model 1500 westbound on U.S. 90 when the vehicle crossed the eatbound lanes to the south shoulder and collided with a concrete sidewalk rail before coming to rest facing southwest.
