Nelda Mae Shores, 79, of Panama City, Florida, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2019. Mrs. Shores was born February 1, 1940 in Altha, FL to William and Viola Hammock. She was a vibrant spirit with a natural gift of love and humor.
Nelda had an adventurous lifestyle that included extensive travel, Bingo, Bonco, fishing and finding thrift store décor. She’d often be found beautifying her colorful garden or swinging on the porch to country music.
Nelda was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Shores; mother, Viola Hamm; and father, William Hammock.
She is survived by her two children: Arlan Shores of Ariel, WA and Vonda Tate of Panama City, FL; sister, Shirley Aleck and husband John of Rio Vista, CA; cousin, D.W. Judd of Clewiston, FL; and three grandchildren: Tyler Tate and wife Amanda, Alyssa Tate, and Alanna Shores.
Her family will have a private graveside service at White Pond Cemetery in Alford, FL.
The family will be receiving friends at Southerland Event Center, Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
