Released by the Florida Highway Patrol …
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports that a four-year-old died as a result of injuries sustained in the single vehicle crash on State Road 79 and Cook Circle Wednesday afternoon.
According to the FHP, Terri Sheffield, 25-years-old, of Vernon, Florida, was driving a 2005 Ford F250 southbound on SR 79 and traveled onto the west shoulder of the rightway. The right side of the behicle struck the dirt embankment of the ditch causing it to overturn onto it’s right side. The vehicle came to rest on it’s right side facing south.
The four-year-old male in the vehicle was killed, while the two-year-old female received no injuries.
Sheffield was charged with DUI Manslaughter.
