Proud of his players and all of those involved in sports at Chipley High School, CHS Football Coach Blake Wilson said the CHS football team will be playing Northside Methodist in tonight’s game at the Philip Rountree Stadium in Chipley.
Speaking at this week’s meeting of the Chipley Kiwanis Club, Wilson bragged on the 15 Freshmen, 10 Sophomores, 8-9 Juniors and 3 Seniors who will be playing on this year’s team.
Noting that the team had taken some “lumps and bruises” in last year’s play, Wilson said they’re giving their play “all they’ve got” as they start off the new school year.
“Our players always take training seriously and they spent time working out this summer,” said Wilson.
Wilson added that while academics are stressed, it has been shown that students who are involved in sports and clubs do better overall. He said it just comes down to the fact that it is a competitive world.
