Washington County Commissioners looking for ways to cut costs …………

Meeting in a workshop session Wednesday morning Washington County commissioners tarted off talking with personnel from Enterprise Fleet Management about leasing county vehicles from the firm rather than purchasing all vehicles.

Enterprise representatives Tony Anderson and Reed Hoffman said the first had collected date for the past three months before making Wednesday’s presentation to the Board of County Commissioners.

Looking at the options presented by Enterprise, but making no decision regarding leasing versus purchase of vehicles, commissioners agreed their goal is to have a functioning vehicular fleet at the lowest cost to the taxpayers.

Enterprise currently works with Franiklin, Orange and Citrus counties, as well as a number of Sheriff’s Departments in Florida.

Commissioners also discussed the following agenda items and placed them on the agenda for for action at their Aug. 22nd meeting:

  •  FDOT Off System Bridge Project Agreement for County Road 273 over   Hard Labor Creek
  •  Lease agreement for Emergency Management Services
  •  Local Housing Assistance Plan
  •  Hurricane Housing Recovery Program Funding/Administration   Agreements
  •  Usery Road Sidewalk Change Order
  •   Fire Apparatus Proposal
  •   Animal Control Extension 
  •   Memo of Agreement with the Division of Emergency Management
  •   Future Land Use Amendment from AMVETS Post #7 in Chipley
  •   Value Adjustment Board appointees 
  •   Cooperative Services Agreement for Wildlife Services
  •   An Interlocal Agreement with the Town of Wausau regarding Code       Enforcement.
