Chipley can be proud to have a resident who doesn’t turn her back on those in need and always works to make life better for those around her.  Angel Belser has recently drawn the attention of U.S. President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and his wife, as well as the Chipley City Council for her work following Hurricane Michael.

Angel fed breakfast and dinner meals to the National Guard troops stationed in Washington County following the hurricane.  They were so delighted with the services she provided them that they made her an Honorary Member of their troop.  The National Guard also presented  her with the wooden flag shown in the photos below.

Those giving her praise for her work with the public following Hurricane Michael are just the most recent parties praising her efforts.  They come behind the many more who have praised her for her continuing efforts to make life better for those in need in her own community for a number of years.

Another person  praising Angel’s work in the community is Richard Sevigny, who she describes as a “critical part of her extended family”.  She said he has continued to be involved in getting her needed repair work on her home since the hurricane created chaos in her home.

This office on East Boulevard in Chipley serves Angel as a prayer room, feeding location, storage area, area for young people to gather, and a meet-and-greet hall.

Even though  things are slowing down following Hurricane Michael, Angel says she is still giving out food and preparing meals, but the numbers have dropped from several hundred a day to around twenty a day.

Looking at other needs still apparent  in the community, Angel says food is still needed and she notes that there is still a shortage of housing in the area and people are living in their cars and are in need of assistance.

Angel Belser continues her efforts to help others on a daily basis and invites others to join her in that work.
