Long time resident of the Wausau area Dalton Carter was on hand at Thursday night’s unveiling of a special wall in the Wausau Town Hall. Carter gave the invocation that opened the meeting and reminded council members and the audience to keep God in everything they do.
Dealing with a lengthy agenda, Council members took the following actions:
- Approved entering into a one-year contract with DPS Collection Service to collect bad debts on the Town’s books.
- Set a final budget hearing and adoption of the FY 2019-2020 budget for Sept. 23 at 5:01 p.m.
- Approved a motion to advertise for final public hearing and road closing of that portion of unopened Adams Street from Third Avenue to Fourth Avenue.
- Approved a motion to allow Maintenance Person David Ferguson to drive a town truck home so it will be readily available for after hours emergency situations.
- Approved a motion to enter into an agreement with The Goulding Agency to provide public relations services to the Town starting in October.
- Approved a Resolution establishing the last Saturday in October for Halloween activities inside the Town limits.
- Approved payment of Town bills.
- Approved Minutes and Training Records submitted by the Wausau Fire Department.
- Approved the minutes from the July 8, July 12, Aug. 8th and Aug. 29th Town meetings.
- Approved current bank statements, trial balances, and profit and loss statement.
