Wausau finalizes 2019-20 budget ……………….

The Town of Wausau opened and closed their Sept. 23rd Final Puablic Hearing on the 2019-2020 FY Budget with no public input and then voted 5-0 to adopt the following budget:

  • General Funds     $113,030
  •  Water Department    $176,100
  •  Street Department    $11,820
  •  Recreation Department      $22,900
  •  Fire Department       $37,860
  •  Volunteer Fire Department     $21,000
  •  Fire House Grant      $916,250
  •  Fire House Forrestry Grant      $20,000
  •   CDBG Possum Palace Grant       $620,000
  •   Total Budget with Grants          ……………………………………….     $1,938,960

 

Following the budget adoption the Town Council went into a Special Meeting and approved the following items:

  • Approved (5-0) closure of a portion of unopened Adams Street, from Third Avenue to Fourth Avenue.  Councilmembers noted that the closing does not land lock any adjoining property owners, nor impact the use of the remainder of said road.
  •  Approved (5-0) to rebid plans for the new Fire House.
  •  Voted (5-0) to hold a Pulic Hearing on their FRDAO Grant Applications on Oct. 12th at 5:30 p.m.
