As part of their Sept. 24th meeting the Washington County Board of County Commissioners voted to extend the Burn Ban in place in the county.
Commissioners said the purpose of the order is the mitgation of the public safety hazard posed by wildfires during the current dry weather conditions by curtailing the practice of outdoor burning.
All burn opertions must be approved by the Florida Forest Service.
