Released by CFO Jimmy Patronis’ Office …
Floridians,
Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Michael’s landfall in the Florida Panhandle as a Category 5 storm. While many have recovered, there’s still a lot of work to be done. That’s why I’m hosting another Insurance Village in Bay County. We are bringing together 29 insurance companies, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, our Division of Consumer Services, the Office of Insurance Regulation, Florida’s Insurance Consumer Advocate, Legal Services of North Florida, Inc., and Florida Healthy Kids to assist in the insurance claims and recovery process.

Please share this important information with anyone you know who is still struggling with recovery. I will be working with Florida’s Insurance Consumer Advocate and the Office of Insurance Regulation to determine what actions we can take to ensure the industry brings claims to resolution. It’s past time insurance companies step up for the consumers who pay their premiums faithfully month after month. We must continue working to rebuild so every family and every business can return to normal as quickly as possible. We are in this together, and we will recover.
Sincerely,
|
