Former Chipola player Patrick Corbin is headed to the World Series. Corbin led the Washington Nationals to the National League Championship on Oct. 15 with a commanding (7-4) performance on the mound.

Corbin recorded 12 strikeouts in 5 innings pitched. He is the only pitcher in MLB history to record 10 strikeouts in the first 4 innings of a postseason game.
The Nats will face the American League Champion—Yankees or Astros—in the World Series which begins Oct. 22.

Chipola had four alumni playing in the MLB Postseason, including: Corbin (Nationals), Adam Duvall and Tyler Flowers (Braves) and Russell Martin (Dodgers).

Corbin’s former Chipola coach Jeff Johnson says, “We’re proud to have so many of our guys playing professional baseball at the highest level.” Chipola was the only junior college with four former players in the postseason.
