The young people attending Thursday afternoon’s ‘Bear Hunt’ at the Chipley Library had a delightful time “hunting for a bear” which they eventually found  and then were awarded with their own cuddly bear to take home.

Staff members working with Project HOPE,  Life Management Center of Northwest Florida, were on hand to read and interact with the children and help them realize their concerns following Hurricane Michael were normal.

Stressing that recovery from a hurricane takes time and looks different for everyone, the Project H.O.P.E. workers stressed that there are people on the childrens’ lives who  are ready  listen to their  story and want to help them  identify their inner strengths and lean on their existing support network.

Project HOPE staffers Sharon Jones, Eva R. Brown, Ebone Hooks, Pamela Andrews and Felicia Staten stopped by the Chipley Library Thursday afteroon to talk with the children going on a “Bear Hunt”.
Along with refreshments, each of the young children attending the event were given their own bear to take home.
