Panama City, FL – For the third year in a row, Gulf Coast State College has received a grant from the Gene Haas Foundation, whose primary goal is to award grants to post-secondary schools, high schools and special educational programs to help build skills within the machining industry.
The generous grant, in the amount of $10,000, will be used to support GCSC’s Engineering Technology students by providing scholarships and National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) credentials, as well as funding to participate in competitions such as Skills USA. Additionally, students will receive opportunities not only to learn metalworking but also robotics, programming, composites and more. The skills gained will go beyond classroom activities and allow students to use the technology in real-world applications.
A check presentation will be held with members of the Gene Haas Foundation and GCSC staff on Thursday, October 24 at 3:00 p.m. in the Advanced Technology Center, room 151.
