TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Following a powerful tornado touching down in Polk County due to Tropical Storm Nestor, Florida’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis urges any Floridian making insurance claims to call his office’s Insurance Consumer Helpline (1-877-MY-FL-CFO) for free assistance with the process. Since CFO Patronis took office in July 2017, more than $99.5 million has been recovered for insurance consumers statewide.
CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “As Polk, Pinellas, and Hillsborough County residents recover from the tornado which touched down from Tropical storm Nestor, I want to assure them that my office stands ready to assist anyone with insurance questions or to help with claims. Many Floridians don’t realize my office has consumer advocates to help with your insurance or financial questions and complaints free of charge. We are here to fight for you—with over $99.5 million recovered for policyholders since July 2017 already—so please don’t hesitate to contact us.”
