The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports that 51-year-old Kelley Philmon of Alford, Florida died as the result of injuries sustained in a two vehicle crash on I-10 in Jackson County Saturday night.
According to the FHP,a 2004 Honda Accord, driven by 26-year-old Katherine Foley of St Augustine, Florida, was traveling westbound in the inside lane (left) of I-10 and a 2005 Nissan Rogue was also traveling westbound on 1-10, but in the outside (right) lane.
The Honda drifted to the left, slightly off the roadway, The driver over corrected to the right. The front right of the Honda collided with the left rear of the Nissan which caused the Nissan to enter the median rotating counter clockwise.
The Nissan began over turning, ejecting the driver. The Nissan came to final rest upright facing eastward in the median. The driver of the Nissan, Philmon, came to final rest just west of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The FHP reports that the Honda traveled onto the north shoulder coming to final rest facing northwestward.
Tiffany Taylor, 38, of Altha, Florida was a passenger in the Nissan and received serious injuries. Another passenger in the Nissan, 27-year-old Cameron McClendon of Marianna, Florida and a 6-year-old child in the Nissan both received serious injuries. A fourth passenger in the vehicle received no injuries.
