The Washington County School Board was proud to recognize Hannah Mask for her work with the STEM program at Monday night’s Board meeting.
In the summer of 2019, Hannah selected to participate in a STEM academy at Babson University in Massachusetts. This summer she will participate in a STEM Academy that will focus on law and forensics at George Mason University in Washington D.C.
In a second presentation at the meeting, the School Board received a check in the amount of $3,431.64 from Daniel Young representing the Florida Forest Service. The check the the School District’s portion of income from trees harvested at Pine Log State Park. (As required by Florida Statutes.)
During the meeting the School Board voted to accept the bid of $2,375 per month from L&B Lawn Service for Grounds Keeping Services for the Chipley and Vernon schools and the District Office. The School District has had a contract with L&B Lawn Service for the past three years. L&B was the lowest of four bidders.
The Board also approved the following agenda items:
- Payment of monthly bills.
- Minutes from the Nov. 4th Workshop, Nov. 4th Executive Session, Nov. 11th Regular Board Meeting, Nov. 19 Public Hearing, and Nov. 19th Re-Organizational Meeting.
- Out-of-State travel for WAVE students to Wiregrass Commons Mall in Dothan, Alabama on Dec. 18th.
- District Career and Technical Education Instructor Course Requirements at Florida Panhandle Technical College.
- Expanding program offerings at Florida Panhandle Technical College.
- 2020-21 STEM Collegiate High School agreement.
- Out-of-State travel for Roulhac Middle School Band students to attend Southern U.S. Honor Band in Troy, Alabama on Dec. 5-7.
- Contracted services with Danielle Baxley.
- School Board Attorney contract.
- Out-of-State travel for Tiffany McKinney to South Carolina for ClearTouch training.

- Employment of Allison Montezuma, teacher, at Chipley High School.
- Employment of William Wilson, Athletic Director/Head Football Coach at Chipley High School, Jan. 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020.
- Leave of absence for Holly Dietrich, Jan. 6, 2020 to March 30, 2020.
- Employment of Lauren Dailey, paraprofessional, effective Jan. 3, 2020 at Kate Smith Elementary School.
- Resignation of Kelli Messer, teacher, at Kate Smith Elementary School.
- Employment of Paige Drummond, paraprofessional, at Vernon Elementary School
