Washington County’s Veteran’s Representative Chris Hyatt was recognized at Thursday’s meeting of the Washington County Board of County Commissioners when he was presented a framed certificate and letter from Senator Rick Scott who praised Hyatt for his work on behalf of Veterans.
Acting on their regular agenda items, commissioners took the following actions:
- Amended the Future Land Use designation from Agriculture/Silviculture to Low Density Residential for property belonging to Raymond Walters on Union Hill Road.
- Amended the Future Land Use designation from Agriculture/Silviculture to Low density Residential for property located on Pecan Shadows Drive belong to David Richardson.
- Approved a Special Exception of +/- 248-acres site to allow for the establishment of a Borrow Pit for the County.
- Approved the Washington County Planning Commission Schedule for 2020.
- Approved the sale of Parcel #5434-0003 to Mr. B. Mingus.
- Received a CSRS Disaster Recovery Presentation from FEMA representative Allison Davis Atkinson. BOCC Chair Tray Hawkins agreed to meet with her after the first of the year to look at their program.
- Commissioners requested additional information from United Way of Northwest Florida representative Angela Kloph concerning their proposed Workforce Campaign.
- Approved entering into a SCOP agreement for work on Brickyard Road totaling $1.6 million.
- Approved signing a letter of approval for the Washington County Pageant.
- Appointed Commissioner Todd Abbott Supervisor of Elections Canvasing Board Member and Commission Charles Kent as Alternate.
- Approved adding an Emergency Repair Section ($15,000 per client) to the SHIP LHAP Revisions.
- Approved taking the Highway 79 Corridor Payment from the Landfill Account.
