Are YOU Looking For A Well-Paid Job? Florida Panhandle Technical College in Chipley Now Offers Applied Information Technology and CyberSecurity

Florida Panhandle Technical College in Chipley started the 2019-20 school year off with a full class of students in the Applied Information Technology Program, the foundation program for a career in Information Technology.

Recently several students received certifications through this program, as seen in these photos.

Klayton Coleman (above) is enrolled in Applied Information Technology and earned a CompTIA A+ Certification.

Tyler Eldridge (above) is enrolled in Network Support Services and earned his CompTIA Network+ Certification.

Dallas Kirkland (above) is enrolled in Network Support Services and has earned CompTIA Network+ Certification.

When students earn the CompTIA A+ Certification they have an understanding of how to install, manage, and secure computer hardware and master home and corporate OS environments. 

Most students choose to enroll in the Network Support Services program after completing Applied Information Technology where they earn their CompTIA Network+ Certification and gain a better understanding of how to install, configure and maintain a network for a small business as well as learning to use Cisco networking devices. 

Upon completion of Network Support Services, students can take Network Systems Administration or Applied Cybersecurity, earning CompTIA Server+ Certification and gaining experience with installation, storage, and OS features and functionality, networking features and functionality, and managing identities functionality available with Windows Server Software as well as becoming proficient Linux command-line interface users, or earning CompTIA Security+ Certification and learning how to secure a corporate network using a layered security model, using penetration testing tools to analyze networks and vulnerabilities and understanding how to counter these vulnerabilities and improve network security respectively. 

Students completing these programs, which are available for open enrollment and available to dual-enrolled high school students, are prepared for an entry level position in the IT Industry such as IT Support/Help Desk/Networking as well as an extensive wealth of information and experience that will be beneficial in their progression within this field in the future.
