Students in the Digital Video technology Program at Florida Panhandle Technical College in Chipley were tasked with documenting their hands-on activities in 2019, as they produced and recorded music; planned, shot and edited video, practiced photography with a variety of camera technologies in the studio environment; flew and recorded images with drones; documented FPTC campus activity in photo and video, produced promotional content for the Washington County School District, documented local events in photos, and worked with the Adobe suite of programs, including Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere Pro- all part of this total immersion media creation program, as seen in these photos of students, by students.
‘This is not a program for the faint-of-heart or unmotivated student’, says FPTC Instructor Paul Goulding. ‘A less-than-energetic attitude will not work in your favor in this class, but if you are truly interested in a career, a hobby or a part-time job in any of these technology fields, then this is the program for you’.
The program recently completed several projects for the Washington County School District, including a video tribute honoring all the nominees for 2020 ‘Teacher of the Year’, ‘Rookie Teacher of the Year’ and ‘School Support Staff of the Year’. The video presentation was shown at the recent ‘Teacher of the Year’ banquet and ceremony, held at the new School District Board Room in downtown Chipley.
