Washington County School Superintendent Joe Taylor was guest speaker at Tuesday’s meeting of the Chipley Kiwanis Club and updated attendees regarding the one-half cent sales tax that was approved by voters in 2018.

Taylor said during the first year the tax generated approximately $934,000 that has been used to upgrade equipment and security in the school system, along with refitting the new school district office/board room.

 

The Chipley Kiwanis Club members also took time at Tuesday’s meeting to recognize the recently re-formed Key Club at Chipley High School.
