TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis released the following statement as one of his top legislative priorities, House Bill 487 the Firefighter Cancer Decontamination Equipment Grant Program, passed the House Commerce Committee today and heads to the House floor.
CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “I thank Representative Elizabeth Fetterhoff and the Florida House for stepping up for our firefighters today and sending this meaningful legislation to the House floor. Last year, we successfully fought to give firefighters the coverage they need to battle cancer and now we’re one step closer to providing these heroes with the resources and equipment needed to prevent this deadly disease. Florida continues to send a clear message: We stand with our brave firefighters in their fight against cancer.”
