Not unlike the rest of Northwest Florida, Jackson County political races are starting to heat up as candidates enter the final seven months prior to the Primary Election, this year scheduled for August 18, 2020.
The vacated position of Jackson County Sheriff sees a wide field of hopefuls vying for that top law enforcement slot and on Saturday evening, February 1, 2020, Donnie Edenfield, one of five candidates for the position, held a town hall ‘Meet and Greet’ session in Alford, as seen in these contributed photos.
The position of Supervisor of Elections itself is up for grabs in Jackson County, with five announced candidates, and slots for County Commissioners and Superintendent of Schools also have multiple job applicants.
‘Thanks to all who came out tonight to our first Meet and Greet’, said Edenfield at the event, attended by a large crowd of well-wishers and citizens looking for answers to tough questions.
‘We were very humbled by the turnout. Looking forward to our next one coming soon’ finished Edenfield, who expressed that he was happy with the crowd and is planning other such events over the next few months.
