Members of the Washington County Historical Society held their monthly meeting and luncheon Friday at the museum in historic downtown Chipley and welcomed three new members to the group.
Current members are reminded that their annual dues are needed to help support the work at the museum.
Historical Society President Dorothy Odom announced that several new items have been added to the museum’s display and encouraged the public to stop by view all of the items currently on display.
The museum is open Fridays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and the public is invited to stop by to check into their family’s history and take a look at the items from the past that are displayed.
Odom announced there would be a “book signing” at the museum on March 23rd to celebrate Dale Cox’s new book ‘The Fort at Prospect Bluff’.
Additionally, Odom said Cox has offered to help with a grant application to seek funds to enlarge the current museum site.
