Floridians, This week, I had the honor of recognizing members of Florida’s firefighting community for their outstanding accomplishments in the fire service industry during the 2020 Fire Service Awards. Day after day these dedicated men and women run towards danger. But it’s not just the firefighters that keep our communities safe—it’s the educators, inspectors, investigators, instructors, volunteers, and training centers that ensure we’re protected. I cannot thank these fire service professionals enough for their outstanding service to their communities and our great state. |

The following day, I was joined by Governor Ron DeSantis, Attorney General Ashley Moody, and Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried during the ‘Ringing of the Bell’ Ceremony to honor Florida’s 200 fallen firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty. It was a humbling reminder of the sacrifices made every day by Florida’s brave firefighters and dedicated first responders.
