Elder Care Services is hitting our own aging milestone this year- the 50th anniversary of when we opened the doors to serve local seniors. As the new CEO of Elder Care, I am proud to usher in this decade paying homage to our legacy of improving the quality of life for seniors in Leon County while looking ahead to our robust future.

Thank You To Our Elder Elves!
This year’s Elder Elf Program was a tremendous success, and we at Elder Care couldn’t be more grateful for all of those who signed up to be Elves. As a direct result of your selfless generosity this holiday season, we were able to provide gifts for just over 200 seniors! Thank you all for helping us further our mission to improve the quality of life for seniors and their caregivers in the Big Bend.
Community Leaders Spreading the Warmth
While winter brought some cold temperatures this year, Big Bend seniors should have no fear! The office of Tasha Carter, Insurance Consumer Advocate – Florida Department of Financial Services, donated 17 heaters to help seniors in need. These heaters provided vital support to our seniors, allowing them to age comfortably in their own homes, without the fear of a heightened utility bill. Thank you!
Be Prepared (for Hurricanes!)
Embodying the Boy Scout motto to always “Be Prepared”, Gjerson Bastian created over 100 hurricane preparedness bags for his Eagle Scout project. These bags, to be distributed to our seniors, contain many of the necessities needed to power through even the toughest of storms. Thank you Gjerson!
