Marianna, FL – On February 18, 2020 Florida Highway Patrol Troopers captured escaped prisoner Travis Dickson Wilson, 36, of Cottondale, Florida.

Wilson escaped from the Jackson County Courthouse this morning where he was to appear on charges of Aggravated Sexual Battery and Kidnapping.

Troopers were assisting in the multi-agency search for Wilson that included members of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Marianna Police Department, State Attorney’s Office, Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, Jackson Correctional (JCI) and Apalachicola Correctional Institutions.

JCI canines tracked Wilson to an abandoned house on Saint Andrews Street, just west of Borden Street in Marianna. Troopers from Troop A’s Criminal Interdiction Unit (CIU) deployed K9 Taz to conduct a building search of the abandoned house. K9 Taz alerted to an area inside near a ladder leading to the attic crawl space.

An FHP CIU Trooper along with JCI personnel entered the attic and discovered Wilson, still shackled and handcuffed.

Troopers took Wilson into custody without incident and turned him over to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
