The Chipley Kiwanis Club led off their Tuesday meeting presenting two checks to Julie Dillard, Washington County’s 4H Director, in support of the overall 4H program and the 2020 Washington County Youth Fair being held at the Ag Center in Chipley this weekend.
Thanking the Kiwanians for their support, Dillard reminds everyone to stop by the Youth Fair and see what the 4Hers are achieving.
Following the check presentation, the program portion of the meeting was turned over to Sandy Prichard, Executive Direction of the ARC Center in Chipley.
Prichard said she learned early in her life that she liked working with children with disabilities and has pretty much devoted her life to that end.
Prichard said she and the staff at ARC are currently working 75 clients from Washington, Holmes and Jackson counties and pointed out that each client has their own individual needs, but teaching life skills is what is stressed.
“We want to set our clients up for success”, said Prichard.
Prichard thanked the community for their support and involvement, and reminded them of the aluminum can recycling program that helps provide funds for their programs. (There is a container in front of the ARC building on South Boulevard in Chipley where aluminum cans can be deposited.)
