On February 26, 2020, students from Florida Panhandle Technical College competed in the Region I Skills USA competition at Pensacola State College for the opportunity to advance to the state competition held April 19-21 and performed very well.
‘Our students did great in this competition’, said FPTC Director Martha Compton, ‘but it comes as no surprise. At the risk of appearing proud, we strive to produce above-average graduates at Florida Panhandle Technical College, and we typically do just that’.
Skills USA provides both secondary and post-secondary students the opportunity to compete in skills contests and compare their abilities against those of their counterparts from other high school Career and Technical classes, Technical Colleges and State Colleges from the panhandle of Florida.
Students from FPTC competed in Cabinetmaking, Job Interview, Job Skills Demonstration, Medical Math and Technical Drafting.
