Transitioning Military Entering Northwest Florida’s Aerospace Workforce
Northwest Florida has 3,000+ military personnel separating annually from our six military bases, that all have aviation focused missions. These military personnel have aerospace and aviation experience from research and development to engineering and aircraft mechanics. Many of the transitioning military members continue their aviation career in Northwest Florida’s vast aviation industry with nearly 500 aerospace companies located in the region.
Embry Riddle Aeronautical University is preparing transitioning military members to enter the region’s aerospace and aviation workforce. They are accomplishing this through aerospace programs at five campuses across Northwest Florida, as well as online courses. A brand new Aviation Maintenance SkillBridge is launching at Hurlburt Field on June 1st. Programs range from master degree’s in Aeronautics to certification’s such as the Aviation Maintenance Technology Part 65 certification.
