An open letter to the residents of Washington County, Florida:
I am Corey Odom and I am applying for the position of Washington County, Florida Supervisor of Elections.
I have managed a multi-million dollar budget for a healthcare provider and managed a staff of 30 people, and I have developed the experience, skills and abilities to serve you in this role, including:
- Client interaction, advocacy and customer service
- Management of people, equipment, revenues and financial statements
- Development of efficient practices and Human Resource Management
- Oversight and conformation to HIPPA Privacy Laws, Medicare/Medicaid
- Enforcement of state regulations
My husband Mark and I have two children, Konner and Graem, and we have been a part of the fabric of life in Washington County for many years. For over twenty years I have been an active volunteer in children’s events and special needs classes, church mission trips and teaching, and health events.
As your Washington County Supervisor of Elections, I bring an attitude of servitude and leadership, including:
- A committed full-time physical presence in the Supervisor’s office
- Total access to the Supervisor’s office for all citizens
- Fairness and abidance of the laws of the State of Florida
- Upholding the Constitution of Florida and the United States
- Educating our children and citizens of Washington County about civic duties
- Maintaining professionalism and upholding the highest standards of ethics
- Ensuring voter roll accuracy, updating and verifying voter rolls regularly
- An improved ‘Customer Service-Friendly’ atmosphere and workplace
- New levels of access and transparency before, during and after voting
- Embracing new technology for efficiency and cost-savings
- Good stewardship of the Supervisor’s budget through efficient practices
I ask for your support because I believe that some of these tenants and precepts are lacking.
As your Washington County Supervisor of Elections, I have a plan of action which will allow me to be available in each of the County precincts on a regular rotating basis, with the full resources of the office allowing citizens of Washington County access to updated procedures, rule changes and registration opportunities.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns- I am always accessible.
Thank you for your consideration.
