Washington County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) Chair Tray Hawkins announced Wednesday that Broadband is coming to the county.
In the BOCC March 11th workshop Hawkins said, “It won’t be tomorrow, but good things are coming.”
According to Hawkins the County is very early in the project.
Other items addressed on the workshop agenda included the following:
- Request to execute a Supplemental DOT Agreement and Resolution for Cope Road. Commissioners were told it will add approximately $11,000 to the agreement.
- Request to execute a Supplemental FDOT Agreement and Resolution for Old Bonifay Road.
- Addressing the Recreational Vehicle Land Development Code. Commissioners said they are receiving complaints from citizens that people are using recreational vehicles for permanent living and they believe this devalues surrounding property. Commissioners said they want to develop a rule that doesn’t overlap restricting property owners. “We want to let people have rights, but not mess with neighbors,” appeared to be the overwhelming consideration.
- An extension to the Interlocal Agreement with the Washington County School Board for facility use in emergency situations.
- A request to hire temporary help for the Building Department.
The above items will be taken up at the March 19th Regular BOCC meeting which will be held at 9 a.m. at the Commission Board Road at 1331 South Boulevard in Chipley.
