Chipola recently hosted a screening of the film, You Gave Me a Song, produced by Ashley Melzer, an alumnus of Chipola. The film is about old-time music pioneer Alice Gerrard.
Producer Ashley Melzer, originally from Sneads, is a producer, writer and media-maker living in Durham, NC. Born in North Florida.
She earned a Bachelors in Cinematic Arts from the University of Southern California and a Masters in Folklore from UNC-Chapel Hill.
She is a graduate of Sneads High School and Chipola College.
