Tray Hawkins, Chairman of the Washington County, Florida Board of County Commissioners has announced that there will be a Business Community Meeting on Monday, March 23, 2020 at 10AM, but that the event will be a call-in meeting.
‘The current unknown ramifications of the COVID-19 health issue have changed the world as we know it’, said Hawkins in an interview on Friday, March 20, 2020.
‘For this reason, restaurants have been closed by the state government and business in some cases has come to a virtual standstill’.
‘We recognize the immediate, short term and long term issues facing small and large businesses, and this first of hopefully many roundtable discussions will allow business owners to speak with lawmakers and policy setters, business leaders, and other public figures, in an effort to see where we can go from here’, Hawkins continues.
The call-in number for the March 23 meeting is 850-260-0118, and participants should enter the code 35719 when prompted.
Hawkins will be in attendance at this meeting, along with local area businesses to gather information about poignant needs such as personal protection equipment, hand sanitizer, supplies, etc.
‘We have reached out to our local, state and federal representatives’, says Hawkins, ‘and we hope to have some of them participate in some fashion, even if it is in the virtual meeting format’.
‘If you would like to ask a question without actually taking part in the conference call, simply submit your questions no later than 7AM on March 23, to the Washington County, Florida email address info@washingtonfl.com’, Hawkins finishes.
‘God bless you’, says Hawkins, ‘we will get through this together’.
