Released by the Wiregrass Museum of Art …
While WMA is temporarily closed to the public, we want to stay in touch with all of you!
We are working from home to update online resources that will help you and your family stay connected with us, learn something new, and be #wmaINSPIRED until we can open the doors at 126 Museum Avenue again.
Following WMA on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter is one of the best ways to access digital content while the museum is closed.
We will continue to post regularly to bring you images of art from the permanent collection, exhibitions past and present, as well as new learn-from-home educational content!
DAILY ART BREAK and WE CREATE WEDNESDAYS
Join us – starting Monday, March 23rd for the launch of Daily Art Break! We’ll post an art challenge on Facebook and Instagram each day, with a new theme each week, and invite you to share your work with us!
We Create Wednesdays will feature a new video posted on Facebook each Wednesday at 10 a.m. with guided instruction of an art project related to the Daily Art Break theme of the week. Fun for all ages!
THE EDUCATOR’S LAIR BLOG + ONLINE LESSON PLANS
Look for new content on the Educator’s Lair blog, with posts each Monday featuring art projects that can be done from home. WMA also has a series of online lesson plans based on pieces from the permanent collection. These cross-curricular lessons for all grade levels help students explore different subject matters through art!
Although originally developed for classroom instruction, many projects are easily adapted for in-home learning!
TAKE A VIRTUAL TOUR
Take a virtual tour of the 2020 Youth Art Month exhibition!
Explore work by area PreK-12 students, pieces from the 2nd Congressional Competition, and the Out of the (Art) Box installation competition for middle school and high school students.
