On Friday morning, March 27, 2020, the staff at the Washington County, Florida Government annex, along with County Administrators and Chairman Tray Hawkins, mixed hand sanitizer and packaged into containers, according to local need, and distributed along with home-grown surgical masks, as seen in the accompanying photos by The Goulding Agency in Chipley.
‘We are mixing the medical-grade alcohol delivered by Distillery 98 earlier this week with Aloe Vera, scents and essential oils today, then packaging into containers suitable for local consumption and distributing according to need’, said Washington County Commission Chairman Tray Hawkins at the County Annex on Friday morning.
The hand sanitizer will be delivered to any business making the request, along with surgical masks manufactured by volunteers in Washington County and surgical gloves, all of which have been in short supply since the inception of the COVID-19 health scare.
‘We want to thank everyone who has participated, and it would be impossible to remember to name them all- there have been so many that have reached out to help’, said Hawkins on Friday. ‘Just know that we appreciate you all and that at the end of the day, we have a giving, caring community’.
