Staff, students, parents, and our community:

On Monday, March 30, 2020, the Washington County School District will begin implementing our virtual learning process called an Instruction Continuity Plan (IDP).  Between now and April 15, this plan will provide our students with access to either paper or digital materials allowing them to continue their education at home.  This homebased instruction is important for students to remain engaged with school, maintain a sense of normalcy, and help keep their educational continuity moving forward for them for next school year.  Our ICP can be found on the District website.  Information continues to change and evolve almost daily, so continue to monitor the District website and Facebook for the most current information about the Washington County School District.

Teachers, paraprofessionals and 12-month staff:

Will get more specific information from their Principals.  Staff will begin reaching out to students to explain different parts of the ICP for various courses and/or subjects.  Please remember to stay flexible in this new and evolving instructional process when helping students and families.  Each school will have someone available to answer incoming calls during the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.  the District Office will be open and available by phone from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 850-638-6222.  Our data center staff are working to get devices in the hands of our staff that need them and schools will be addressing the computer needs of students.

For Parents:

If you have not heard from a teacher by Tuesday, March 31st at your child’s school, please call your child’s school in order to verify your contact information.  During this unprecedented time of school closure due to concerns with the COVID-19, use this time to read to your child, explore outside, create artwork, and discuss  our changes.  Please feel free to call/email your child’s teacher.  Our number one goal is safety and to help your child complete this school year.  The School District is continuing to run buses to feed both breakfast and lunch for children under the age of 18.  With the next few days, buses may also be used to bring paper learning packets to some homes.
