Greetings from FGNW’s New President & CEO

April Greetings,

I’m honored to be writing this message as the newly selected leader for Florida’s Great Northwest. I am a native Northwest Floridian, growing up in Port St. Joe, living in Pensacola during a portion of my college years and settling down in Panama City with my family. For over 11 years, I’ve had the distinct pleasure of practicing economic development across the region and partnering with FGNW. I am extremely passionate about all the special, unique attributes that make Northwest Florida a thriving place to live and do business. And despite a leadership change during social distancing and COVID-19, the FGNW team remains focused on continuing the organization’s strong momentum, building off its rich 20-year history and developing prosperity across every community in Northwest Florida.

Looking forward into 2020, FGNW will continue to tell Northwest Florida’s story, sharing the resiliency of our people, creativity of our leaders, quality of our assets and the strategic vision to move Northwest Florida Forward. We hope you will make plans to connect with us and stay in touch as you won’t want to miss the exciting things we have planned.

Building a better future – together,
Jennifer

Local Manufacturers Adapt in Times of Crisis

The American spirit has risen to overcome every obstacle in our nation’s history. Manufacturers captured this spirit during World War II through converting assembly lines to produce equipment for soldiers. Today, Northwest Florida manufacturers are displaying their American spirit by converting their factories to produce medical equipment to fight against COVID-19.

These medical equipment products range from ventilators to protective masks to hand sanitizer. Household names, such as General Electric in Pensacola, are using 3D printers to produce mask shields. Manufactures in our smaller communities, like WestPoint Home in Chipley, are producing surgical masks. Entrepreneurial companies, such as Perfect Plain Brewing, are producing hand sanitizer for local residents.
