Master Sergeant Alphonso E. Daniel, United States Air Force (Ret.), of Chipley, Florida, answered the call of the Savior on April 6, 2020. He was a native of Roanoke, Virginia.
Alphonso was born to the late Richard & Flossie (Barksdale) Daniel in Roanoke, Virgina. Alphonso was raised in a Christian home, therefore he accepted Christ as his personal Savior. He was a member of Grant Tabernacle A.M.E. Church, Chipley, Florida. He served as a Steward, an Usher, Bus Driver, Sons of Allen and on the Finance Committee.
Alphonso served honorably in the United States Air Force in the position of Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Technician/Quality Assurance. He retired after 26 years. Alphonso transitioned to civilian life with ease and continued his love for aircraft. His expertise ensured immediate and gainful employment with Raytheon, a major U.S. Defense contractor, and DynCorp, a government service provider, for another 20 plus years.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife: Helen Roche Daniel of Chipley, Florida; devoted father to two daughters: Carolyn (Willie, Jr.) Hightower of Tallahassee, Florida and Shirley (Arthur) Goff of Chipley, Florida; two sons: Otis Lee of Vernon, Florida and Theodis Lee of Chipley, Florida; cherished grandfather to 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; dear brother to two sisters: Linda Daniel and Frances Claytor, both of Roanoke, Virgina; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A Service of Celebration honoring the Blessed Life of Mr. Daniel will be held privately. There will be a public walk-through only viewing on Friday, April 10, 2020 from 12 Noon – 5 PM CST, at Cooper Funeral Home, Chipley, Florida.
