4-H has a long history of members and volunteers stepping up in times of need to serve their communities. We are currently living in one of these times. Are you looking for a way that your whole family can help the community during our current crisis? If so, here is the project for you.

Need

In many COVID-19 units, along with others, medical personnel are required to cover their heads/hair. The best way to do this is by wearing a surgical scrub cap. There is a need to make washable surgical scrub caps. Join 4-H in supporting our medical communities by participating in this 4-H Family Sewing Project.

Response

This project is designed for full family participation. This 4-H Family Sewing Project is an easy do-it-yourself project. The pattern is DIY and does not require printing. A key is provided to help identify which parts of the project each family member can help with. The instructions have a video that can be followed for extra support.

Donations

We are encouraging that donations are made to family members and friends who are in need, along with the floor/unit that they work with. If you don’t have any family members or friends in the medical field, contact local hospitals and medical facilities to donate. Please include a thank you note with each cap donated identifying you as a 4-H member/family/club. We would love to see pictures. Post to social media tagging using the hashtags #4heverywhere and #inspirekidstodo. We are excited to see your creations!
