April 22, 2020 marks Earth Day, an annual event celebrated around the world. This year celebrations will be a little different because of COVID-19. However, families can still celebrate during this pandemic while maintaining social distancing.

Osceola County 4-H Youth Development Agent, Laura E. Valencia and Natural Resources Agent, Krista Stump, partnered up to give families fun, educational activities to do during this time by participating in the Osceola County 4-H Virtual Eco-Explorer Scavenger Hunt. The idea behind this is for youth and their families to enjoy Mother Nature, learn and celebrate Earth Day while making a few simple changes that our ecosystem will appreciate.

We hope the following educational activities will inspire you to learn more about the environment and encourage stewardship of the planet’s essential resources. The virtual scavenger hunt is divided into 4 themes: nature, water/energy, recycle/reduce, and wildlife giving families the opportunity to research, learn and have fun while being a global citizen.

Spread the word on social media as well as with family & friends about Earth Day and how to get involved in the movement.

We encourage all our families to celebrate and share how they are exploring nature by taking a picture and tagging us #Osceola4H in Twitter, Instagram or Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Osceola4H/photos/a.836088173114344/2927168490672958/?type=3&theater
