Family Dollar Distribution Center in Marianna, Florida last week announced a new shift in their workweek, and an opportunity for existing and new associates to enjoy a work schedule conducive to their lifestyle.
The new ‘Fourth Shift’ features the option to work three days a week, inclusive of Saturday and Sunday, with the associate able to choose the third day, resulting in a four-day ‘weekend’.
Family Dollar has included a pay differential for associates working this shift, to make up the pay difference, and thus far the response has been brisk, especially with free paid health insurance for the associate, paid holidays and other benefits.
