On Monday, June 15, 2020, the City Council for Vernon, Florida met at the Vernon Community Center, maintaining social distancing, to conduct their regular monthly workshop meeting.
The Vernon Recreation Department announced that there would be a softball tournament on Saturday, June 20, 2020, and welcomed anyone wishing to volunteer.
The tournament was welcomed after the City baseball, softball and tee-ball seasons were cancelled due to the Coronavirus.
Council members discussed the ongoing annual City audit, issues with backflow meters, an upcoming trash amnesty day and other issues.
The regular schedule of Vernon city council meetings has been resumed, with a Workshop on the first Monday, and a formal Meeting on the third Monday of each month, respectively.
